Phyllis J. Schrader, 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 8:30 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Golden Living Center Sycamore Village. She was born in Indianapolis on February 10, 1940 to Patrick and Lucille O. (Martin) Schrader and moved to Kokomo in 1974.

Phyllis was a Broad Ripple High School graduate and worked for Cuneo Press, Lloyd Cheek Reality, K-Mart associate and home care for 35 years. She was a member of the Kokomo Christian Fellowship. Phyllis was a member of the Eagles and lifetime member of the V.F.W. where she was the ladies auxiliary president for 10 years. She also served as Sr. Vice president for the Dist and many other chairs. Phyllis was on the board of directors for 8 years for Area 5. 

Survivors include her two daughters, Theresa M. Sefton and Meare Tyler Banfield, both of Kokomo; three grandchildren, Charles Clint Bolen, Dell Sefton Jr. and Levi Eugene (Rebekah) Gross; great grandchildren, Erik and Faith Lee; two sisters, Hilda Mae Skinner and Edith Ana Roberts, both of Indianapolis; sister-in-law, Pat Schrader; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend of 15 years a Cockatiel named Bo Bo.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Lucille Schrader; two brothers, Charles Robert Schrader and Ed Rurl Schrader; sister, Lucille Howe; adoptive parents, Maxine and Basil Wilmot; and husband, Gerald Creason.

A memorial service will be held at 5 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Nick Farmer officiating. Burial will be held at Russiaville Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses. Online condolences may be left at www.stoutandson.com.
