Jack B. Williams, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 9:10 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at North Woods Village in Kokomo.  He was born December 30, 1937, in Muncie, and his parents were Charles E. and Martha (Peters) Williams.  On September 17, 1961, he married Janet Sue Brower, at Judson Baptist Church in Kokomo, and she survives.

Jack graduated from Knox High School, in Knox, Indiana, in 1956, and later served in the Army National Guard.  He went on to work for Chrysler beginning as a grinder and retiring as an inspector after 37 ½ years of service.  He was a member of UAW Local 685 and 685 Retirees, where he served in many capacities including CAP and District 5 CAP.  He also served on the Board of Health, with the United Way, at the Automotive Heritage Museum, and on the Board of Directors at Financial Builders Federal Credit Union for many years.  Jack was an active member of First Christian Church.  He valued his faith and the church family at First Christian. Family was very important to Jack, and he loved them dearly and cherished spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Janet Williams, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Wendy) Williams and Jennie (Todd) Firestone; grandchildren, Tyler, Cami, Zachary and Ella Williams, and Jack and Trey Firestone; brother-in-law, Leo Leger; sister-in-law, Nancy Babb; nephew, Scott Babb; and niece, Jaime Babb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cindy Hill; brother, Tom Williams; mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Dale Brower; brother-in-law, Larry Babb; sister-in-law, Linda Leger; and niece, Camela Leger.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at First Christian Church, 854 N. 300 W., Kokomo, with Pastor Will Jewsbury officiating.  Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to First Christian Church.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.

Janet and Family, we are so sorry to hear about Jack! He was a great, dedicated member of UAW Local 685! It won't be the same without him. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. So sorry we can't be with you for the services. We are in Florida and won't be returning until the end of April. Take care, Janet, and know we are thinking about you!

Dearest Janet. We are so very sorry to hear about Jack's passing. He was such a kind man. I cannot image the conference this year without him. His smile and laughter are going to be greatly missed but will be forever in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jack was one of the best Union men I have ever known. He was intelligent, caring and fun to be around. I shall always remember his smile and kindness. I loved this Union Brother. R.I.P. Jack. Fred
