Jack Lee Doty, 89, of Flora, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on June 23, 1934, in Woodstock, Michigan, the son of Edward and Thelma (Nickloy) Doty.
Jack graduated from Adrian High School in 1952. In his senior year of high school, he went by “Lesslie” and was featured in the yearbook, “thinking is but an idle waste of time, when it is not necessary.”. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy from 1952- 1956, part of which was served during the Korean War. He retired as a journeyman from the Kokomo Casting Plant in 1989. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting, mushroom hunting, anything to do with CB radio, and his classic car collection. He was a Democrat through and through. Jack loved the Haynes Apperson Festival and driving his antique cars in the parade. He was a member of American Legion Post #0415, The Pioneer Automobile Club, VFW.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Warden of Flora; grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Jacob (Krista) Gorski, and Jalynn Warden, all of Kokomo; great grandchildren, Sophia Barnes, Lily Barnes, and Hadalynn Gorski; sister, Dawn Harper of Michigan; nieces, Sandy (Larry) Venable, Janet (Jack) Melton, and Pam (Kirk) June; and nephew, Marty (Cathy) Harper.
Along with his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Lela V. Barnes; and brother-in-law, Ronald Harper.
