Patrick W. DeMoss, 66, Kokomo, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018, at his home.  He was born March 17, 1951, in Logansport, the son of William Wayne “Pinky” & Joan (Nulf) DeMoss.  On August 11, 1973, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, he married Karen K. Donoghue, and she survives. 

Patrick was a 1969 graduate of Lewis Cass High School.  He attended Ball State and graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a bachelor’s in Political Science.  Patrick worked for Pepka Spring for 25 years.  He also worked for EDS, Allied Solutions, and was a copy editor for the Kokomo Tribune.   He umpired for little league baseball, Babe Ruth, girls’ softball, and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #508.  Patrick was an Indiana University fan, and a lover of music.  He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church.   

Along with his wife Karen, Patrick is survived by his children, Tim (Kesha) DeMoss, Kokomo, and Kristy (Everett) Mills, Bloomington; grandchildren, Wilson DeMoss, Treyton DeMoss, Jaxson DeMoss, Jayeden Bronson DeMoss, all of Kokomo, and Asher Mills, and Elliott Mills, Bloomington; sister, Karen (Steve) Delon, Kokomo; sisters-in-law, Sherrie (Gene) Uttinger, and Linda Reeves; brother-in-law, Pat (Debbie) Donoghue, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Alan Reeves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at 11:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Matthew Arbuckle the celebrant.  Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road.  Memorial contributions may be made in Patrick’s memory to Sts. Joan of Arc & Patrick School or to the American Diabetes Association.  Messages of condolence may be left online at

Sad news about one of my childhood friends growing up in Galveston.

So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. He was in the same class as my brother, Steve Gordon. We became Facebook friends after my brother's passing a few years ago and it was nice to be able to keep up with old Galveston friends that way. I know he was much loved and will be terribly missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
