Rick Lee Daugherty, 66, Kokomo, passed away at 7:17 am Monday, February 12, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  He was born January 7, 1952, in Muncie, the son of the late Sara L. Holland.  On March 24, 1972, he married Linda Darlene Porter, who preceded him in death on August 23, 2016.

Rick was a 1970 graduate of Muncie Central High School.  He served with the United States Army in 1971 as a Military Police Officer.   He then graduated in 2014 from Trine University, and in 2015 he received his master’s degree in Public Administration Health Care Management from Indiana University.   Rick served as pastor for the Muncie Main Street United Methodist Church, Pendleton Emanuel United Methodist Church, and the 5th Street Church of the Nazarene in Middleton, IN.  He also worked for the state of Indiana as a correctional police officer and the city of Indianapolis as a police officer. 

Rick was a member of the Indiana University and Trine Alumni Association.  He enjoyed bowling, reading, watching Sci-Fi movies, spending time with his family, and was considered to be a joker. 

Rick is survived by his children, Kelly Redman, Lafayette, Kristie (Bret) Routson, Findlay, OH, and Todd (Michelle) Daugherty, Kokomo, along with 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Hamilton, Las Vegas, and Beverly Hamilton, Muncie, with several nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother, and his wife.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Steve Cole officiating.  Burial will follow in Marion National Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10-12 pm Thursday at the funeral home.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
