Wilbur A. Miller

Wilbur A Miller, 96, passed away January 3, 2026. He was born October 9, 1929 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Albert and Sarah Ann (Christner) Miller. He was a farmer and retired to Sarasota in 2002 from Bunker Hill, Indiana.

Wilbur loved meeting with his friends at Der Dutchman as well as playing marbles, Rook, word games, shuffleboard and camping.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23.5 years Dora Miller; children Jerry Miller and his wife Kathy (Heimen); Marcia Pretzer and her husband Nilen; David Miller; and Stanley Miller and his wife Joanna Miller; brothers Daniel Miller and Olen Miller and his wife Ruth (Yoder); sisters-in-law Irma Sommers and Joanne Sommers Tew; brothers-in-law Menno Schlabach; Aden Miller and his wife Betty; Vernon Miller and his wife Linda; Galen Miller and his wife Sadie; sister-in-law Lela Schrock and her husband Sam; and Ruth Ann Nissley and her Calvin; grandchildren Joe; Lori Ann and her husband Brian; Anna Ward and her husband Tim; Nilen Pretzer and his wife Michelle; Nathan Pretzer and his wife Brittany; Heather Gingerich; Ronald Miller and his wife Tiffany; Nancy Gingerich and her husband Mervin; Laura Schrock and her husband Dallas; Lenny Miller; David Miller; Rachel Hitchens and her husband Chris; Jared Miller; and Caleb Miller and his wife Josie; great grandchildren Anna, Riley, Matthew, Elise, Isaac, Andrew, Collin and his wife Emma, Braden, Kelvy, Grayson, Abigayle and her husband Mitch, Lucas, Kolton, Brianna, Delanie, Kinley, Leah, Emma, Avery, Noah, Dawson, Kara, Elijah, Daniel and Leon; and uncle Jr. Miller and his wife Clara.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur was predeceased by his first wife Ena (Sommers) Miller; son Ronald Miller; grandson Richard Lee Miller; sisters-in-law Sarah Schlabach, Evelyn Miller and Alta Sommers; brothers-in-law Paul Sommers, Sanford Sommers, Alvin Sommers and Raymond Miller; father and mother-in-law Raymond and Mary Miller.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Palm Grove Mennonite Church, 1087 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 pm.

Funeral service in Kokomo will begin at 10:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Howard Miami Mennonite Church, 3976 E. CR 1400 S. Kokomo, IN. Burial will follow in Mast Hensler Cemetery.  Viewing will be Friday, January 9, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church.
