Wayne R. ‘Roger’ Riggs
Wayne R. ‘Roger’ Riggs passed away at 12:36 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Community Howard Regional Health System. He was born the son of John Raymond and Beulah Lee (Neece) Riggs on May 10, 1938 in Monterey, CA. On December 4, 1960 he married Jamakie Annalou Ford at the First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo, and she survives him.
Roger was a 1957 graduate of Brecksville High School in Ohio. He served his country as a 2nd Airman in the US Air Force from 1959 – 1963. He retired from Delco Electronics in 1999 after 30 years of service, prior to that he had also worked at the Med-O-Bloom Dairy. His memberships included the First Church of the Nazarene, UAW Local 292, Boy Scouts of America, and Girl Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife, children, David L. (Janelle) Riggs, Kokomo, Pamela L. (Greg) Wainscott, Mentone, grandchildren, La’el R. (Matt) Bender, Brandon A. Wainscott, brothers, John R. (Sally) Riggs Jr., Pennsylvania, Paul R. (Joanne) Riggs, Florida, William D. (Kay) Riggs, Texas, and sister-in-law, Donna Riggs, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald F. Riggs.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Hussain and Community Howard Regional Health Staff for the wonderful care they gave Roger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at First Church of the Nazarene, 2734 S. Washington Street Kokomo, IN 46902, with Pastor David Leeder officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the church. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or The Boy Scouts of America Sagamore Council.
