Veoma “Vi” Stroup, 80, Greentown, passed away Friday May 20, 2022, at Cardinal Care in Muncie. She was born in Brownsville, AR., on February 9, 1942, to the late Charles and Joyce (Northcutt) Prince. On September 1, 2019, in Russiaville, she married John Stroup, and he survives.
Vi was a teachers aid at Palmetto First Church and retired after over 10 years of service and worked for the Northwestern School Corporation. She loved to travel with “Family Ties”. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry, gardening, and she loved music.
Vi is survived by her husband; children, Juanita Brown, Robert Brown, Lee (Art) Shewbridge, Heather Leanne Long, Cody Long, Kelsey Long and Vernon (Melissa) Long; step daughter, Lori (Ty) Thomas; grandchildren, Sahara Long, Reyelle Sparks, Edward Collins, Jeannie Shewbridge, April Shewbridge, Willow Morris, Brandon Brown, Nicole Danielle Yard, Brian Roberts, Lori Hey, Brandi Unger, Samantha Cunningham, John Cunningham and Joshua Cunningham; step grandchildren, Tanner (Savannah) Thomas and Marlee Thomas; siblings, Bruce (Ruth) Prince, Marsha (Fred) Taylor and Jeannie (Brian) Shone; several nieces and nephews; and her singing friends she made through traveling with Family Ties.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jessie Prince.
The family would like to thank Northwood Village, Cardinal Care in Muncie, and Guardian Angel Hospice.
A private celebration of life will take place. Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation.
