Troy “Bud” Curtis Browning, 92 years old, of Kokomo, IN, passed away 12:12 pm Tuesday March 31, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. He was born in Maynardville, TN, on March 7, 1934, the son of the late Vaughn and Gladys (Walker) Browning. On November 27, 1952, he married Rose Cole, and she preceded him in death on February 23, 2017.
Bud retired from Delco Electronics where he worked as a truck driver. His favorite hobbies were tinkering in the garage, watching sports, and working on tractors. He and his wife Rose were snowbirds down to Winter Haven, FL for over 20 years. Bud will be remembered for being ornery.
He is survived by his children, Rick Browning, Steve (Trisha) Browning, Teresa (Brian) Guy, Lisa (Carl) McClaine; grandchildren, Jill (Kip) Conaway, Amy Browning, Eric Browning, Alyssa (Josh) Orrick, Jamie Daniels, Travis (Rachel) Guy, Ashley Hunt, Beth (Codi) Sutton; 21 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 3 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two brother-n-laws Bill (Jo) Cole and Bob (Linda) Cole, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; siblings, Helen, Wanda, Jewell, Ronald; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Browning; a great-grandchild (Evie Rose), and 2 brother-n-laws and 3 sister-n-laws.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 pm Monday April 6, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 7 pm Thursday April 9, 2026, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Inc., 220 Hwy 61 East, Maynardville, TN 37807. A funeral service celebrating Bud’s life will begin at 11 am Friday April 10, 2026, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville. Burial will follow in Shoffner Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, TN.
