Stephen ”Steve” Floyd Johnson, 69, Russiaville, passed away Tuesday November 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 10, 1956, to the late Sterling and Doris (Evans) Johnson. On September 1, 1989, he married Judith “Judi” Pearson, and she survives.
Steve graduated from Western High School in 1975. He was the Owner and Operator of Johnson Body Shop since 1986 and often told people he was the “owner of a downtown business district of New London”. He was a member of the Russiaville Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years, and the Gas City Ducktail Run for 28 years. He enjoyed attending and watching car shows, plowing snow, and cutting firewood. Steve enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a fan of Martin Truex Jr. He helped on the farm when he was little with his grandpa Evans. He loved playing with his grandkids all the time; he got a kick out of calling Noah and Jonah, pickle heads and Harper Doodles.
Along with his wife Judi, Steve is survived by his children, Breann (Tim) Friar, and Danielle (Brian) Hammond; grandchildren, Makayla, James, Stephen, Noah, Jonah, Peyton, Reagan, and Harper; siblings, Kathy Parker, Karen Collins, and Kelly (Donnie) Parvin; friends, Brad Hardebeck, Junior Dunlap, Linda Ray, Carl Collins, Chad O’Neal, Matt Scott, Darrell Mote, John Braun, Jeff Gaylor, and Rodney “the shop cat”.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Denny Parker.
