Stephen “Steve” Boyd Meeker, 64, of Kokomo, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born March 6, 1962, in Kokomo to Cornell and Beth Ann (Finney) Meeker.
Steve was a 1980 graduate of Western High School and later graduated from the Hobart School of Welding.
He worked at UPI, WIS Sheet Metal, and AAR Aircraft Services for many years before retiring in May 2018.
Steve was a son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend to many. He was a devoted great-uncle to his many nieces and nephews, who were truly his pride and joy. He had a deep love of fishing and hunting. Steve was known for his lively conversations, his ability to make people laugh, and his gift for talking with anyone about anything for hours on end. His friends and family will miss him dearly.
Steve is survived by his mother, Beth Ann Meeker; his sister, Vonda (Roger) Carter; his nieces, Courtney (Mark) Wagner, Cristin (Nolan) Rakestraw, and Chelsey (Jeremiah) Wogerman; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nora Jane, Hudson Dale, and Fisher Cade (Courtney); Everly Janell, Ensley Kay, Paisley Jean, and Darcy Ann (Chelsey); Arthur Nolan (Cristin); and another great-nephew on the way, Arley Boyd (Chelsey). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Cornell Meeker.
A funeral service celebrating Steve’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville, with Gary Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the funeral home.
