Stephen Alan Barr

Stephen Alan “Steve” Barr, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 8:50 am Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, after a long struggle with health issues. He was born November 29, 1953, in Tipton, IN, the son of the late Max & Dorothy (Deardoff) Barr. 

Steve was a great lover of sports and was a huge fan of the Boston Celtics, the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Cubs.  He was an avid fan of music and had impeccable taste. He was witty and sarcastic and he made everyone around him laugh.  Steve loved his family and was always there for anything they needed. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him, and that list is far too long to list here.

Steve is survived by his partner, Patsy Claytor; his two children, Rob Barr and Beth Barr; grandchildren, Jade Barr, Josh Wilson, Billy Wilson, Susie Wilson, Nessa Wilson, Maryjo Wilson and Nikki Wilson along with 18 great-grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Barr; and great-granddaughter, Imani Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-3 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Steve’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society.
