Stanley Sandoe Obituary

Stanley “Stan” Lee Sandoe, 81, of Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 8:00 pm Monday February 19, 2024, at his home. He was born in Hartford City, IN, on January 11, 1943, the son of the late Carl E. and Lucille (Gibson) Sandoe. On April 20, 1963, he married the love of his life, Sondra Joan Cain, and she survives.

Stan graduated high school in Montpelier, IN, in 1961. He became a journeyman electrician and worked at General Motors for 33 years until his retirement. Stan was a quick-witted man, with a good sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life. He was known for being a jack of all trades but a master of none. He was a skilled handyman, mechanic, plumber, and carpenter. He spent his life looking for ways to support and serve others. Stan was a devout member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He adored his grandchildren and was committed to attending their sporting games, meets, and extracurricular activities. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop, traveling, and was interested in photography. Stan’s home was the talk of the neighborhood during Halloween because he went above and beyond to decorate and host all of the neighborhood kids.

In addition to his loving wife Sondra, Stan is survived by his children, Bradley W. (Bobby) Sandoe, Lisa A. (Carl Shine) Sandoe; grandchildren, Matthew D. (Michelle) Sandoe, John H. (Bailey) Sandoe; great-grandchildren, Eric Binder, Ezra Sandoe; brother, Jim (Vicki) Sandoe; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and canine companion, Jake.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lucille Sandoe.
