Shirley Louise Hite

Shirley Louise Hite, 76, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:53 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home.  She was born September 18, 1945, in Kokomo, to Herbert C. and Mary M. (Eckert) Easterday.  On October 12, 1968, she married Larry L. Hite, and he survives.

Shirley graduated from Kokomo High School in 1963 and worked at Delco until her retirement in 1982.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her son, Brian S. (Theresa) Hite; daughter-in-law, Karyn Johnson; grandchildren, Gavin S. Hite, Lauren M. Hite, Corgan Shepard and Kaiden B. Johnson; and several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Raymond B. Johnson; step-daughter, Lori D. Hite; brothers, Herbert C. Easterday, Jr., Harold L. Easterday, and Elmer L. Easterday; and sister, Betty J. Phipps.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Newton officiating.  Private burial will take place in Albright Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made in Shirley’s memory to Kokomo Urban Outreach.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.stoutandson.com.
