Shirley Ann Echelbarger

Shirley Ann Echelbarger, 87, passed away Saturday August 6, 2022, at Jefferson Manor of Kokomo, with her family by her side.  She was born November 19, 1934, in Jackson, MI to the late Joseph A. and Augusta L. (Brandt) Will.  She married Charles Echelbarger on October 2, 1954, and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1999.

Shirley worked for Michigan Bell and for Cuneo Press of Indiana for over 12 years. She was a member of Jerome Christian Church and would attend grandparents day at the pre-school for the children whose grandparents were unable to attend.  She enjoyed gardening and loved her two cats, Charlie and Pee Wee.

Shirley is survived by her children, Randall (Cynthia) Echelbarger, and Robin (Rex) LaRowe; grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Roberts, Brian (Lisa) Cheek, Astra (Chris) Gorski, Lesley (Micky) Turben, Ann-Elise (Jacob) Winkler, Ryne (Rachael) LaRowe, Reid (Michaela) LaRowe, Jillian LaRowe; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Betty; and her cats Charlie and PeeWee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Rhonda Cheek; granddaughter, Kaitlyn LaRowe; 2 great grandsons, Chandler Roberts and Silas Winkler; 7 sisters, 4 brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday August 13, 2022, at Jerome Christian Church, 9535 County Road E. 100 S. Greentown, with Pastor Dick Moser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Jerome Christian Church preschool.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.hasler-stout.com.
