Sheryl Lynn Callis

Sheryl Lynn Callis, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 12:19 pm on Monday November 14, 2022, at her home.  She was born on September 19, 1951, to the late Marvin L. and Edna (Anthony) Callis. 

Sheryl graduated from Kokomo High School in 1970, she went on to earn an Associate degree in drafting form Ivy Tech.  She retired from Delphi, where she worked in the housekeeping department, plastics department, and was a Union Rep. She loved sports, she was on the Delco softball team, who were State and National champions.  She was also involved with volleyball and golfing teams. She was on dart and pool leagues and enjoyed bowling. She loved to compete and to gamble whether in Vegas or any casino playing Blackjack. She always liked the warm weather and enjoyed the beach

Sheryl is survived by her son, Christopher “Scotty” Callis; grandchildren, Christopher Callis and Brennen Callis; great grandchild, Cyrus Callis; sister, Sandy (White) McKoon; brother, Ronnie “Ron” (Mary) Callis; nieces and nephews, Stacy (Aaron) Gardner, Zachary Madera, Sydney Gardner, Caitlin Gardner, Michelle Davis, Nicole Simms, Tiffany Wellemen, Rickie Shawn Callis, Tori Callis, and Aubrey Callis; and several close cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rickie Callis.

A funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm to 3 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Local VFW.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
