Sharon Kay Cardwell

Sharon Kay (Shuck) Cardwell, 81 years old, of Sharpsville, passed away 1:48 pm Sunday September 7, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on June 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Carl and Freida (Williams) Shuck. On June 13, 1998, she married Bruce Cardwell, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2021.

Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Sharpsville High School. She retired from General Motors after 31 years of service as a machine operator. She and her husband Bruce formerly owned and operated Cardwell Tax Service in Kokomo. Sharon was known to help anybody who was in need. She managed to visit all 50 states and traveled around the country in a motor home and on international cruises. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and was a huge supporter of them. Her favorite hobbies were painting, crafting, and ballroom dancing. Sharon formerly attended First Baptist Church.

Sharon is survived by her children, Melinda (Ervin) Stuckart, Melissa Manaloto, Mike (Penny) Burnett; siblings, Bob Shuck, Don Shuck, Edith Burnett; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 15 siblings, and granddaughter, Anna Stuckart.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday September 11, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Sharpsville Chapel, 204 N. Church St., Sharpsville, IN 46068. A funeral service celebrating Sharon’s life will begin at 1 pm on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Pegram officiating. Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery.
