Our beautiful and loving mother, Sharon Sue (Foster) Million, 81, of Kokomo, formerly of Walton, passed away at 11:57 am Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. She was born July 30, 1940, in Walton, IN to Delbert Foster and Pauline (Mumaugh) Slusher. On November 20, 1971, she married Edwin L. Million, who just recently preceded her in death on March 18, 2022.
Sharon was a 1958 graduate of Tipton Township High School in Onward, IN. She operated The Learning Tree Pre-School in Walton for many years before retiring and transitioning to a new community here in Kokomo. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for the past ten years. She also had a life-long passion for medicine and medical related media that she endlessly shared with others. Above all else, Sharon truly lived for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother or as she preferred, “GiGi”.
Sharon is survived by her children, Brett (Teresa) Cain of Russiaville and Stacey Million of Kokomo; granddaughters, Breanne (Matt) Walker of Big Sky, MT and Lauren Cain (fiancé, Garth Gist) of Fishers; great-grandson, Jackson Brett Walker; her loyal canine companion these past four years, Mindy Sue; sister and brother-in-law, Christina and J.T. Hubenthal of Logansport; sister-in-law, Karen Roller of Logansport; brother-in-law, Robert Barr of Logansport; and very special friends, Steve and Carol Rosentreter of Loudon, TN. In addition, she had a number of nieces and nephews that were all very special to her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Meredith Slusher, who played an integral part in her life from a young girl; in-laws, Carl and Lenor Million; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Robert Foster; brother, Ronald Foster; brother-in-law, Jerry Roller, Sr.; sister-in-law, Sharon Barr; nephew, Ryan Hubenthal; and great-niece, Angela Roller.
The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to the Ascension St. Vincent E.R. and ICU nursing staff for their genuine level of caring this past weekend for our mother.
