Sharon Marie Cottingham

Sharon Marie Cottingham passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 4, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1988, in Yuba City, CA to Rebecca (Pritchard) Bennett and Bernard Lammey Jr. She married Steven “Allan” Cottingham on August 28, 2010.

   Sharon and Allan had three children. Cody, 13, Connor, 9, and Mackenzie Cottingham who preceded her in death. Sharon was a stay-at-home mom and housewife. She came from a large family that loved her dearly. Her world revolved around her two boys and her family. 

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her husband of 11 years and life partner of 17 years. Together they enjoyed playing online games, listening to music, watching their favorite shows, going to concerts, traveling, and spending time with their two boys and extended families. Sharon enjoyed watching movies and eating popcorn with her two boys, Cody and Connor. Sharon was a fierce Mama bear that would have done anything for her two sons and her God-daughter Joshlynn.

   She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sharing recipes with family members, especially her beloved Mama T, whom she facetimed daily. Sharon also enjoyed planting flowers and drinking wine. She was often found spending time with her “favorite” sister-in-law Rachel drinking wine and having a good time. 

   She enjoyed spending time with her father Benard fishing, cooking, working on tractors, and talking. She truly was a Daddy’s girl thru and thru. Sharon enjoyed spending as much time with her mother as possible. She loved to talk and embarrass her mother all costs and wallering on her as much possible.

   Sharon enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, gaming and spending time with her nieces, nephews, siblings, and most importantly her mother and father. Sharon had a big heart and cared deeply for those most important to her and family always came first to her. She will be deeply missed.

   Sharon is survived by her husband, Steven “Allan” Cottingham; sons, Cody Cottingham and Connor Cottingham, all of Kokomo, IN.; God-Daughter Joshlynn Beard, of Kokomo, IN.; mother, Rebecca Bennett of Kokomo, IN.; father, Bernard Lammey Jr. of Marysville, CA.; Father-in-law Michael Cottingham of Kokomo, IN.; Mother-in-law Kimberely Ellis of Flora, IN.; brothers, Jon (Rachel) Adleman of Kokomo, IN., Dameon Morse, Brandon Morse, and Shane Lammey of Marysville, CA., Todd Cottingham of Sharpsville, IN,; sisters, Alesha (Tony) Naylor of Colorado Springs, CO., Alana Hughes of Kokomo, IN., Sarah Morse-Goad of Apple Valley, CA., Hazel Lammey and Emily Lammey both of  Marysville, CA., Dana(Jared) Stephenson of Walton, IN, Tara (Jeremy) Miller of Flora, IN.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

   She is preceded in death by her daughter, Mackenzie Cottingham; father, Vincent “Vince” Bennett; aunt, Mary Ellen; and her grandparents, Christina Edwards, William Pritchard, Jack Bennett, and Bernard Sr. and Sharon Lammey.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm on Friday January 14, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Jefferson St. Chapel, 414 W. Jefferson St., Kokomo, with Fr.
