Sharlot Wyneta Crowder, 99, Indianapolis, passed away at 7:51 pm on Monday October 24, 2022, at Traditions at North Willow in Indianapolis. She was born on September 24, 1923, to the late Libe Roscoe and Mary Opal (McAninch) Robertson. On October 24, 1962, she married Thomas R. Crowder, and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Sharlot graduated from Speedway High School in 1941. She worked for Kokomo Center Schools as a secretary for Bon Air elementary. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and the Russiaville Lodge. She attended First Christian Church and volunteered for St. Joseph Hospital since 1988. Sharlot enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren, and loved traveling, especially on Alaskan Cruises and European Boat Trips.
Sharlot is survived by her daughter, Debra Malooley; grandchildren, Christopher (Kimberly) Batastini, Denise (John) Faircloth, Paige (Matt) Hunt, Rebecca (Michael) Barden, Amy Malooley, James Malooley III and Jeffrey (Mackenzie) Batastini; son-in-law, Lee Batastini; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; daughter, Patricia Batastini; siblings, Madonna Mozzone, Duane “Jack” (Betty) Robertson and Jimmy Robertson; and grandson, Kevin Batastini.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday November 19, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Rev. Dr. Al Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
