Saundra “Sandy” Jeane Jackson, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 7:21 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home. She was born August 4, 1941, in Kokomo, to Gail and Betty Lou (Spitler) Bailey. On December 31, 1961, she married Michael Lynn Jackson, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2016.
Sandy graduated from Northwestern High School in 1959 and started farming with husband Mike until their retirement in 2007. She worked part-time at Howard County Farm Service Agency where she enjoyed helping and working with local farmers. Sandy was a member of Liberty Gals Home Ec Club and Greentown Historical Society. Sandy loved the Lord, especially working with the children’s department and Vacation Bible School for many years while attending Hillsdale Church.
Survivors include son, Mark and wife Barb Jackson, Kokomo; daughter, Kathy and husband Marcello Abbruzzetti, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts; sister, Jane Thatcher; sister-in-law, Carolyn and husband Roger Johnson; and special friend and sister-in-love, Marge Hayes. She dearly loved and was proud of her grandchildren, Brittany and husband Chris Hagerty, Kevin and wife Amy Jackson, and Michael Abbruzzetti. Her great-grandchildren kept her young, Henly Hagerty, Casey Jackson, and soon-to-be, Miles Jackson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jack Bailey and Tom Bailey.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown, with Pastor Jeff Newton officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Jerome Christian Church Preschool. Services have been entrusted to Hasler & Stout Funeral Home in Greentown.
