Sandra Joan “Sandy” Smith, 56, of Kokomo, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC, on April 19, 1967, to Walter and Lola (Bilby) Baker.
Sandy graduated from Tri-Central High School in 1985. She had a great sense of humor and loved to play Bingo and do crafts. Sandy loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she loved animals, especially her dogs. She was an incredible mother; even though she only had two sons of her own, there were many children in her life, throughout the years, that called her “mom”. Sandy lived a simple life, but her life and her love impacted so many others.
Sandy is survived by her sons, Matthew (Angela) Baker and James Smith; grandchildren, Beauti, Noah, Josiah, and Genesis; siblings, Karen (Joe) Goodman and Mark Baker; many nieces and nephews; “special” friend of 32 years, Mona; beloved dog and cat, Kali and Beerus; and a countless number of “adopted” children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Diana Fletcher, Jan Nelson, Michael Baker, and Timothy (Debbie) Baker; and her dog- “soulmate”, Pagan Marie.
Her family would like to thank all of the staff and residents of Waterford for their care and love they showed.
No services are scheduled at this time. Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
