Samuel Laughner Obituary

 

Samuel Franklin Laughner, 84, Kokomo, passed away at 11:18 am on Sunday June 12, 2022, at The Bloom at Kokomo.  He was born to the late William Earl and Marietta (Tapp) Laughner in Clinton County on November 6, 1937.  On July 7, 1957, at Zion EUB Church, he married Rosalie Wysong and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2016.

Samuel graduated from Forest High School in 1955.  He was a Foreman for Haynes International and retired after 30 ½ years of service. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Samuel enjoyed golfing, spending time with his grandchildren and was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers.  He loved vintage cars particularly ’51 Mercuries.  He loved sitting on his back porch reading and enjoyed participating in Trivia while at Wellbrooke. 

Samuel is survived by his children, Jerry Laughner, Dawn (Bill) Foster and Timothy Laughner; grandchildren, Susie Pyles and Monique (David) Haire; great grandchildren, Eden, Jonathan, Emily and Evelyn; and brother-in-law, Earl (Janet) Wysong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; siblings, Mary Catherine Laughner, Robert “Bobby” Laughner, Elbert Laughner, Charles Jerry Laughner and Ruby Duncan; and grandson, Brett Laughner.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday June 16, 2022, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Lyn Coleman officiating.  Burial will take place in Middlefork Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 pm to 2 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, dementiasociety.charityproud.org.
