Ronnie Joe Baxter, Sr.

Ronnie Joe Baxter, Sr., 27, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022, at his home.  He was born May 26, 1994, in Kokomo, to Ronald N. and Heather E. Faris.  On February 16, 2017, he married Brittany E. Mendoza, in Kokomo, and she survives. 

Ronnie worked at Subaru and had previously worked for Red Lobster, IHOP, and Church’s Chicken in Kansas City, Missouri.  He was a tattoo artist and enjoyed drawing.  He also liked working on car audio, customizing shoes and cooking.  He loved Marvel movies and good food, especially chocolate and sweets, and cherished spending time with his friends and family. 

In addition to his wife, Brittany Baxter, survivors include his children, Cylas Baxter, Ronnie Baxter, Jr., Ameah Baxter, Alexandria Olivares and Ava Thompson; his parents; siblings, Arien Baxter, Leah Faris, Haliegh Harden, Romeo Aldridge, Jesse Baxter and Kyle Zambrono; nieces and nephews, Zain Lee, Kailyn Lee, Ashton Elrod, Alivia Baxter, Gabriel Mendoza, Airah Faris, Jayden Young, Amiyah VanWinkle, Delanie Wojtkiewicz, Jordan Powe, Jahiem Hill and Xavier Mendoza; grandmother’s, Wanda Reynolds and Lynn McKenney; grandparents-in-law, William and Mary Clark; aunts and uncles, Donnie Reynolds, Sam Faris, Ted Faris, Ricky Driver, Ted Driver, Mike Zell, Hunny and William "Mike" Lee, Lisa Reynolds, Max Clark, Paul Clark and Mark Clark; mother in law, Sonja Reeves; father in law, Peter Mendoza; sister in law, Kristi Hill; brother in law, Mathew Mendoza. 

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Clinton Harden; brother-in-law, Billy Mendoza; uncles, Frank Snow and Johnny Snow; aunts, Laura McKay and Barbara Rice; cousin, Donnie J. Reynolds; and grandparents, Ralph and Ethel Baxter, Susie McBee and Robert Reynolds. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., with Mike Zell officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.  Messages of condolence may be made online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
