Ronald Lee Mygrant

Ronald Lee Mygrant, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 1:44 pm, Friday, April 3, 2026, in his home. He was born on March 18, 1938, the son of Ralph James and Wilma Lucille (Sommers) Mygrant. On December 7, 1961, he married Betty Louise (Jones) Erlbeck and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2018.

Ronald was a graduate of Converse High School. He worked in heat treat at the Chrysler Transmission Plant. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Converse Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. Ron enjoyed traveling and spending time at their condo in Florida. Ron served in the United States Marine Corps from September 24, 1957, to September 22, 1961.

Ronald is survived by his children, Beryl (Larry) Kendall, of Greentown, Bonnie Erlbeck of Kokomo and Rhonda Mygrant and her caregiver, Pam Bartley, of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Ralph Wilson, Christian Wilson, Kimberly and Brian Alan Miller, Thomas Michael Johnston II, Lucinda Rothrauff, Gabriel Ellis, Joshua (Windi) Campbell, James Lucas (Christina) Campbell and Sarah Campbell; step-grandchildren, Tim Kendall and Jason Kendall; great-grandchildren, Sydney Miller, Payton Miller, Tory (Amanda) Johnston, Sawyer Johnston, Oliver Johnston, Quirstin (Thomas Gene) Yeary, Mallory Rothrauff, Lucie (Brock) Spencer, Bianca Flamino, Tyleigh McWhirt,  Jerry Phipps, Haley Tinder, ShyAnn Tomlinson, Kaiden Thompson, Aryan Ellis, Gabriella Ellis, Jace Miller, Kyersten (Dakota) Warrick, Kelsi (Sarah) Campbell, Lily Campbell, Lexys Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Kylan Campbell, Aryanne Campbell, Zayne Campbell, Valic Campbell, Andrew (Hunter) Campbell, and Severin Campbell; step-great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Kendall, Cody Anthony, Liam Kendall, Lily Kendall, Trevor Kendall, Julian Harmon, Allana Gentner, Alea Gentner and Makala Harmon; 23 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Keith (Sheila) Mygrant and Dave Mygrant.

Along with his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lucille Mygrant; grandmother, Mable Sommers; son, Lucas (Dianne) Erlbeck; daughter, Trudy Erlbeck; great-grandchild, Brianne Ellis; and siblings, Larry Mygrant and Darl Mygrant, Nancy Moore; sisters-in-law, Connie Mygrant and Shari Mygrant, Carol Mygrant.

A funeral service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road Kokomo, IN. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
