Ronald King Obituary

Ronald G. King, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 2:38 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019, at his home surrounded by family.  He was born May 10, 1933, in Grant County, to James W. and Edna (Carl) King.  In May of 1955, he married Patricia Fawcett, and she preceded him in death on August 30, 1968.  On November 26, 1969, he married Jan Young Davis, and she survives.

Ron graduated from Kokomo High School in 1952 and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955.  He was former president of King’s Heating & Plumbing, Inc.  Ron enjoyed fishing, gardening, being a part of the Kokomo Travel Club and spending time with his family.  He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he served with the Methodist Men, and was a former member of Courtland Avenue Friends Church.

In addition to his wife, Jan King, he is survived by his children, Jean (Phil) Murdock, Jay (Karen) King, Jerry (Terri) King, Jayne (Doug) Dewire and Jay (Hope) Davis; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Smalley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and brother, Roger King.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Great Lakes Home Health Care and Hospice and to Fresenius Dialysis Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastors Brian Cook and Larry Newburg officiating.  Private burial will take place in Galveston Cemetery.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made in Ron’s memory to Grace United Methodist Church or the Simon Cancer Center.  Messages of condolence may be expressed online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
