Robert Theodore “Rob” Kincaid, 48, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025. He was born July 10, 1976, in Kokomo, the son of Robert V. and Mary A. (Beaver) Kincaid. On April 17, 2004, he married his best friend, Denise Underwood, at the Sharpsville United Methodist Church, and she survives.
Rob was a 1994 graduate of Tri-Central High School, later earning his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Indiana University Kokomo in 2007 and going on to complete his MBA in 2014. He served as controller at Bona Vista from 2015 to 2019 and was most recently the controller at AndyMark. Rob was also the founder of Abstract Empire, where he was able to express and share his artistic talent.
Rob’s passions ranged from the outdoors to the arts. He loved rock climbing, camping, and tending to his yard, especially mowing and his favorite chore, burning trash. His artistic talents included everything from painting and drawing to creating pottery and metal sculptures. Music was another of Rob’s lifelong loves. He was a gifted musician and a member of a band that played under varying names over the years, most recently, Division Road, and past monikers that include, The Flightless Birds, Dad Balls, and Mercury Base Frying Pan. His love of music also led to his passion of collecting vinyl records and attending many, many concerts with Denise and the kids.
Rob served on the Bona Vista Board of Directors, most recently as secretary and preparing to serve as president next term. He was an active member of the Kokomo High School Band Boosters and proudly drove the trailer for the school’s bands. He also mentored students at Bon Air, teaching them to paint murals, and volunteered on the PTA for Lafayette Park and in many events for the Simply Soda Foundation. Rob will be remembered for his creativity, his sense of humor, his readiness to help others, and his deep love for his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Denise Kincaid, survivors include his daughter, Lukah Kincaid; son, Judah Kincaid; mother, Mary A. Kincaid; father and step-mother, Bob and Terri Kincaid; sisters, Kate Childers (Todd), Becki (Jamie) Schoppe, Amber (Jeff) Hotelling, and Katie (Megan) Bless; father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Cherri Underwood; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Jason) Sines and Marcie (Jim) Malan; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Friends are invited to visit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and all are encouraged to wear their favorite concert t-shirt.
