Rita Ann (Winkler) Sottong

Rita Sottong, 87, Kokomo, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community.  She was born September 21, 1937, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Errol & Mary (Katona) Winkler.  On February 4, 1956, she married Robert F. Sottong who preceded her in death on May 21, 2015.

Rita was a 1955 graduate of Kokomo High School.   She adored her grandchildren and the feeling was mutual.  They all have treasured memories of the time they spent with Grandma and Grandpa Sottong.

Rita is survived by her children, Robin (Bruce) Andreas, Shelley Hall and Chris (Suzy) Sottong; grandchildren, Joel (Barbara) Andreas, Amy Freeland and Eric (Sarah) Andreas; great-grandchildren, Layla Andreas, Waylon Andreas, Asher Freeland and Mabel Andreas; siblings, Robert Winkler, Richard Winkler and Gloria McHale.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert.

Private burial will be held in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
