Richard "Rick" Eugene Warren

Richard “Rick” Eugene Warren, 70, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:09 a.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  He was born December 18, 1951, in South Bend, to Robert and Esther (Pietrowski) Warren.  On April 27, 1973, he married Cathy A. Fitch, and she survives.

Rick served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1975.  He later worked at Chrysler as a fork truck driver for 30 years and retired on June 7, 2007.  After his retirement, Rick decided to go back to work at the Kinsey Youth Center and retired from there in July 2021.  He was a lifetime member of the Kokomo VFW Post 1152 and served on the Military Rites Team.  He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Cathy Warren, survivors include his sons, Jacob (Jami) Warren and Douglas (Mymia) Warren; grandchildren, Alex (Carol) Meyers, Phillip Warren, Olivia Warren, Wesley Warren and Hailey Warren; great-grandchildren, Cassidy Meyers, Brinley Meyers, Siena Wilson and Collin Meyers; siblings, Linda Meyer, Diane Pietrowski, Bill (Sonja) Henderson and Sandy (Bob) Gause; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Sharon Eltringham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Barb Dean; and life-long friend, Tom Eltringham.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Pastor Darrell Colburn officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from Noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Contributions may be made in Rick’s memory to the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
