Rhys Charles Jones

Rhys Charles Jones, 66, Kokomo, passed away at 9:50 pm at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born November 11, 1951, in London, England, the son of Charles O. & Frances Mary Jones.  On April 20, 1974, he married Patricia D. Guerre, who preceded him in death on December 29, 2016.

Rhys was a graduate of Northwestern High School.   He served in the United States Navy.  Rhys worked as a mechanic, and especially enjoyed working on and building motorcycles.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends, and his cats. 

Rhys is survived by his mother, Frances “Fran” Jones; children, Jim Jones (Beta Michelle), and Jennifer (Derek) Dishon; grandchildren, Gabby (Spencer) Hargrove, Daphne Dishon, Ian Doty, Lily Doty, Eli Jones, Madison Jones, and Milo Jones; and great-granddaughter, Adalyn Martin.

Rhys was preceded in death by his father, Charles O. Jones; and his wife.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with military honors provided by the United States Navy and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12-2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made in Rhys’ memory to the Kokomo Humane Society.  Messages of condolence may be left online at www.shirleyandstout.com.
