Reed Bolton Stoeckley, 56, Kokomo, passed away at 7:58 pm on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, with his fiancé by his side. He was born on April 28, 1969, in Clarendon Hills, IL, to the late John B. Stoeckley and the late Joanne (Darby) Trobaugh. He was engaged to Stella Gries.
Reed graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1988 and attended Arizona State University. Reed was a thriving entrepreneur. He owned the old Book Nook in Kokomo and more recently opened up Stoe’G’ley’s Social Club & Cigar Lounge to share his love of cigars with others. He also worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including managing Kokomo’s Chuck E. Cheese, cooking meals at Community Howard Hospital and Kokomo Center School, and driving a trolley for the City of Kokomo. Reed had a passion for cuisine and enjoyed creatively cooking for others. He spent many hours dancing with his beloved fiancé and loved music of all kinds. Reed spent his summers at Tall Sycamore Campground. He had a great sense of humor and was always socializing with other campers. He cherished driving his customized Jeep through all the seasons. Reed was very artistic and loved to paint. Halloween was Reed’s favorite holiday and he enjoyed creating group costumes with his fiancé and children.
Reed is survived by his fiancé, Stella, and his daughters, Ashley Gries, Isabella Stoeckley, and Lily Stoeckley; siblings, Kari (Mike) Hunter, Guy (Katie) Trobaugh, Ruth (Brian) Wolf, and Clark Stoeckley; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Robert “Bobo” Trobaugh.
