Raymond Wesley Thompson, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 9:22 pm on Sunday April 12, 2026, at Primrose. He was born August 1, 1936, to the late David H. and Regina May (Peek) Thompson. On April 9, 1960, he married Carol K. Walls and she survives.
Raymond graduated from Kokomo High School in 1955 and attended Indiana University. He worked as a pipe fitter for Chrysler and retired after 37 years of service. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Naphtali Lodge, the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, Marine Corp. League, a life member of the American Legion, and the Kokomo Ballroom Dance Club. He enjoyed playing practical jokes, fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Along with his wife Carol Thompson, Raymond is survived by his nieces and nephews, Michael Thompson, Shari Monroe, and Debra Daugherty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Thompson; and brother, Sherman Thompson.
A funeral service celebrating Raymond’s life will begin at 2 pm with Masonic Rites on Monday April 20, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Chaplain Allen Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corp. and Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
