Raymond Gerrit "Gerry" Walker Obituary

Raymond Gerrit “Gerry” Walker, 80, Kokomo, passed away the morning of Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at his home.  Gerry was born July 28, 1943, in Kokomo, the son of Dr. Raymond & Ada (Eager) Walker.  On August 14, 1965, in Kokomo, he married the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Bagwell and she survives.

Gerry was a 1962 graduate of Kokomo High School and attended Ball State University.  He retired from Delphi Corporation in 2002 after 44 years of service to Delphi and Delco Electronics.  He was a dedicated father of 3 boys, and he never missed their sporting events. If not coaching baseball at UCT park, you could find him on the first base line. Gerry enjoyed traveling with his family and loved meeting new people. He never met a stranger.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 58 years, Patricia “Patty” Walker are his sons, Dr. Brian (Dr. Marisa) Walker, Fishers, IN, Todd (Brandi) Walker, Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Trey Walker, Meg Walker, Mallory Walker, Leo Walker, Trey (Dr. Aline) Petersen, Jaxon Petersen; sister, Linda Thompson, Vancouver, British Columbia; and his faithful friend, Marley.  Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Chad Gerrit Walker and his sister, Nancy Farrar.   

Gerry’s family would like to thank Paradigm Hospice and his loving nurses, Regina King and Karla Cohee for the care they gave Gerry during his illness.

No public services are planned at this time. A private family service will be planned later to celebrate the life of Gerry. Friends are invited to make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Paradigm Hospice.
