Raymond E. Riley, 95, Kokomo, passed away at 7:36 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. He was born to the late Ellis E. and Jennie (Heeter) Riley in Athens, IN., on February 23, 1927. He married Norma Susie Craig on February 23, 1954, and she preceded him in death in 1991. On January 1, 1999, he married Virginia A. (Cox) Fague, and she survives.
Raymond graduated from Akron High School. He served in the United States Army. He worked for the United States Post Office as an accountant and was head of the Kokomo Post Office Credit Union. Raymond attended First Church of the Nazarene and Crossroads Community Church. He was an Avid Indiana Pacers fan, who enjoyed golfing.
Along with his wife Virginia, Raymond is survived by his daughter, Angela (Rod) Conner; stepson, Jeff (Pat) Critchley; stepdaughter in law, Barb Critchley; grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Sutter, Alisha (Jeff) Coby, Dionna (Mike) Murphy and Hannah (Tony) Cuyler; and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; stepson, Tony Critchley; three brothers, Monroe Riley, Theodore Riley and Calvin Riley; and three sisters, Nina Spurlock, Katherine Overmyer and Helen Bright.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday June 15, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd., Kokomo, with Dan Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, with Committal service provided by Pastor Aaron Gross. Military Rites will take place at the cemetery and will be provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites team. Friends may visit with the family from 1 pm to 2 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
