Randy Eugene Schick, 72, Kokomo, passed away at 12:21 am Monday, May 9, 2022, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born August 2, 1949, in Kokomo, the son of the late Donald E. & Gladyce (Rone) Schick. On September 13, 1986, he married Ellen Stafford who survives.
Randy was a 1967 graduate of Kokomo High School. He retired in 2020 after 43 years of service as an electrician from General Motors. He was a member of UAW Local #292 and IBEW #873. In 1986, he and his wife established Randy Schick Construction and focused on custom home building and land development.
Randy was a hard-working man who loved his family and enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his entertaining stories.
Along with his wife, Ellen, Randy is also survived by their children, Matthew (Megan) Schick, Bringhurst and Jacqueline (Tommy Lott) Schick, Kokomo; his daughter, Laura (Blair) Blanch, Alabama; grandchildren, Tucker and Tatum Schick and Nicholas and Elijah Blanch; mother-in-law, Mona Stafford; sisters-in-law, Janet Schick, Kokomo and Carla (Mark) Mayer, Michigan; special cousin, Wayne (Donna) Janner; and uncle, Charles (Joan) Kraner, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice, and a special thank you to Shannon and nurses, Julia and Lisa.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Candy Jones, D. Joseph Schick and Fredrick Schick; grandson, Tanner Schick; and father-in-law, Gerald Stafford.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery.
