Paul H. O’Blenis, 83, Kokomo, went to be with the Lord at 8:08 am Friday February 8, 2019, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. He was born October 25, 1935, in Kokomo, the son of the late Carl & Jane (Sink) O’Blenis. On June 14, 1955, he married Martha A. Name, who survives.
Paul was a 1954 graduate of Kokomo High School, and served with the National Guard. Paul was one of the charter members that helped start the volunteer fire department in Indian Heights. He retired as an independent floor covering installer after 55 years of service. He was a member of Main Street Christian Church, where he served as an elder and as a deacon. He also sang in the choir, taught bible study and Sunday school. Paul also served on various committees throughout the years for the church.
Along with his wife Martha, Paul is survived by his sons, Paul E. (Beth) O’Blenis, and Gregory L. (Tanya) O’Blenis; grandchildren, Paul C. (Brieanna) O’Blenis, Marissa, Seth, and Solomon O’Blenis; great-grandchildren, Brady Dillman, Elizabeth Wagner, Blayde Dillman, Hanna Molter, and Jaxson O’Blenis; and sisters, Mary O’Blenis, and Sally Harris.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Carl O’Blenis Jr, and his twin sister, Pauline Horner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Main Street Christian Church, 220 W. Main Street, Russiaville, with Elder Wayne Janner and Pastor Steve Bishop officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-8 pm Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s memory to the Missions Fund at Main Street Christian Church.
