Paul B. Klemme

Paul B. Klemme, 97, Kokomo, passed away at 6:27 pm on Sunday November 21, 2021, at his home.  He was born on January 2, 1924, in Howard County to the late Charles and Mary (Colescott) Klemme.  On May 1, 1947, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kokomo, he married Patricia M. Hobensack and she survives.

Paul worked for Continental Steel as a crane operator and retired after 40 years of service.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.  He enjoyed camping, square dancing, and taking trips with his family.  He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945. 

Along with his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Elaine (Sam) Ellis, Paul (Brenda) Klemme, Mary (John) Indrutz, and Lorrie (Larry) Martin; daughter-in-law, Pam Klemme; grandchildren, Shon (Sarah) Klemme, Penny Hinze, Josh Klemme, Matthew (Karen) Ellis, Patricia (Shawn) Wickersham, Michael (Karen) Ellis, Luke Ellis, Cassie (Chris) Cunningham, Jeremy (Amy) Klemme, Katrina (Adam) Dyke, Jason (Jimmie) Klemme, John (Amanda) Indrutz, Jenny (Ryan) Williams, Alex (Gwen) Indrutz, Jacob (Lizzie) Martin, Kira Martin, Zack Martin, and Mark Martin; 39 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Klemme; two brothers, John Klemme and Charles Klemme.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Thursday December 2, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1229 N Washington St., with Fr. Stephen Duquain the celebrant. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at the church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
