Patrick “Pat” Alan Comp, 73, of Kokomo, passed away at 3:35 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Kokomo. Pat was born on January 30, 1953, in Kokomo to Ralph Edward and Irma Joan (White) Comp.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1971. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became an electrician, later becoming a journeyman electrician. He was a proud member of the I.B.E.W.
Outside of his profession, Pat found great joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and observing wildlife. He had a natural connection with animals and especially loved the companionship of his pets.
Pat is survived by his nieces, April Hale and Angie (Steve) Meadows; sisters, Amy Birchmeier and Julie Hale; nephews, Chad (Mandy) Comp, Matt (Cheyenne) Comp, Andrew (Michelle) Comp, and Bryce Comp; sister-in-law, Chris Comp; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends, plus his two favorite furry nieces, Thelma and Louise. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Comp.
A memorial service celebrating Pat’s life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Jeff Haill officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
