Patricia "Pat" Lee Hoel Obituary

Patricia “Pat” Lee (Richardson) Hoel, 92, of Kokomo, passed away 10:35 pm Thursday November 13, 2025, at Waterford Health Campus in Kokomo. She was born in Flint, Michigan, on March 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Ivan E. and Barbara E. (West) Richardson. On January 6, 1951, she married Dale William Hoel, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2023.

Pat graduated from Houghton Lake High School in Michigan. She was the best homemaker and ultimate caretaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was passionate about traveling and playing golf. She was a member of Green Acres Golf Club, the Barbettes Golf League and Ricettes Golf League. She was also a member of the Burlington Community Club. Pat was a very organized lady who prioritized her fitness. Her favorite hobbies were bowling, gardening, refurbishing furniture, and shooting the bull while drinking martinis. Pat will be remembered for being a stoic lady with the best grin.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Johnston, Glenda Murphy; grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Gaddis, Cassandra (Christian) O’Neal, Phillip Ratcliff, Calvin Murphy; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Money; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Barbara Richardson; daughter, Brenda (Bill) Harness; son-in-law, Tom Murphy; brothers, Wally Richardson, Bud Richardson, Kenneth Richardson, Alston Richardson; and sister, Dorothy Abbey.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 am to 1 pm Friday November 21, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN 46979. A funeral service celebrating Pat’s life will begin 1 pm on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Butcher officiating. A link will be available at the bottom of Pat’s obituary page to view the funeral live at 1 pm on Friday. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden.
