Pastor William Mouser Obituary
Pastor William F. Mouser, 82, entered into eternal rest on Sunday November 9, 2014 at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born in Gideon, Missouri on December 25, 1931 to Melvin and Mandy (Abernathy) Mouser. He was married to Marilyn Sue Morrison on June 28, 1952 in Kokomo by the Rev. Donald Duncan.
Bill served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. His oldest son was born the day the truce was signed.
Bill worked for Center Spring Company for 30 years, Syndicate Sales and Country Catfish in Kokomo and Marion.
He founded Faith Apostolic Lighthouse (Greater Life) Church in Sims, IN on November 2, 1969. They built a new church in Greentown, IN in March of 1972. He pastored there for 37 ½ years before his illness. A compassionate person, Bill cared for anyone and everyone, no matter where they came from.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue Mouser; four children, William Avery Mouser, Wisconsin, Ricky Lee (Heather) Mouser, Tipton, Janice K. (Robert) Rood, Kokomo, and Gregory Alan, Windfall; 11 grandchildren, Ricky (Brandi) Mouser, Peru, Jeremy (Kelli) Mouser, Wisconsin, Micah (Rayna) Mouser, Greentown, Justin Mouser, Florida, Nick (Stephanie) Mouser, Kokomo, Allen (Tricia) Mouser, Windfall, Stephanie (Adam) Mouser, Wisconsin, Tiffany Mouser, Tennessee, Mario (Jennifer) Mouser, California, Aaron Rood, Kokomo and Adam Rood, Kokomo; 16 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jaxon, Logan, Davin, Reed, Jaelyn, Hannah, Aubree, Payslee, Carter, Shiane, Haielynne, Jamesyn, Lilyanna, Andi, Beckett, and one expected in December.
The family would like to send love and thanks to Kayla Shelby, his caregiver and friend for six years. We love you.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday November 11, 2014 at Greater Life Church, formerly Faith Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 332 Payton Street, Greentown with Minister Micah Mouser officiating assisted by Pastor Eric Hall. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery, Sharpsville, IN. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until service time Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Greater Life Church building fund.
