Norma J. McQueen passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 7:25 PM at The Crossings at Kokomo. She was born on September 6, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Harold and Gertrude “Trudy” (Bickers) Day.
Norma graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis in 1955. She later retired from the Indiana Government Center after 30+ years of service.
On Valentine’s Day in 1988, she married David W. McQueen, who preceded her in death in 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. (Kevin) Cox; two sons, Paul E. “PJ” Richards Jr. (Shelley) and Timothy S. Richards; three grandchildren, Kelly L. (Michael) Giles, Joshua K. Cox, and Brenton A. (Michaela) Richards; and four great-grandchildren, Amdon J. Swartzendruber, Emily P. Giles, Hannah K. Giles, and Avery J. Cox. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Kerst, along with several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, David W. McQueen; her parents; and her brother, Harold R. "Buddy" (Susie) Day Jr.
We want to recognize and thank the staff at The Crossings at Kokomo for all the love and care she received over the last two years.
In keeping with Norma’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
