Nancy Jo Courts

Nancy Jo Courts, 88, Kokomo, passed away at 5:45 am on May 23, 2026, at her home.  She was born May 26, 1937, in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of the late Everett & Dorothy (Drabenstott) Bressler.  She was married to Lewis Hodson who preceded her in death on September 22, 1979.  She then married John Courts on June 6, 1980, who also preceded her in death on March 11, 2011.
Nancy was a 1955 graduate of Kokomo High School.  She worked for Haworth High School in the cafeteria for 15 years.  Nancy loved hosting family gatherings at her home where she would make the food from scratch.  She was well known for her chicken and noodles and her fudge.  She also loved to quilt, go to the lake, and go to the Moose Lodge in Kokomo that she was a member of.  
Nancy is survived by her children, John (Marsha Whitehead) Hodson, Michael Hodson and Michelle (William) Pratt; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Hodson; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Jaqueline Quinn, along with several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lewis Hodson and John Courts; son, David Hodson; sister, Pat Poulen; and daughter-in-law, Christie Hodson.
In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, no services are planned.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation.
