Nancy A. ”Nan” Spindler, 77, Simpsonville, Kentucky, formerly of Kokomo, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020, at Baptist Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born December 1, 1942, in Frankfort, the daughter of the late William & Bonnie (Roush) Michner. On November 30, 1979, in Kokomo, she married Richard Spindler who preceded her in death on June 20, 2017.
Nan was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She was an avid Saddlebred horse enthusiast, breeder, and exhibitor. Nan served as president of ASHAM (American Saddlebred Horse Association of Michigan), as well as chairman and board member of the ASHAM horse show for many years. She was also a breeder, handler, and owner of champion Cocker Spaniels and Collies. Nan loved spending time with her entire family, playing games and just having fun.
Nan is survived by her children, Wayne Johnson, Pamela James, Lori Ford, and Tristan Spindler; 11 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Patricia) Michner, Joyce (Dave) Wise, and Teresa (Brian) Cotterman; sister-in-law, Charla Michner, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, James Michner.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, with Matt Skiles officiating. Burial will follow in Fairhaven Cemetery, Mulberry, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-3 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
