Monica (Walker) Irwin

Monica Irwin, 64, Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 7:36 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.  She was born June 9, 1957, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late George & Phyllis (Flynn) Walker.  On October 8, 2009, in Las Vegas, she married Bobby Irwin who survives. 

Monica was a 1974 graduate of Haworth High School and went on to earn an Associate’s degree in General Studies with Indiana University. She retired after 15 years of service from Delphi Electronics as an Executive Assistant.   She enjoyed crocheting, board games and playing Candy Crush.  Monica was a good cook and an active reader.  She cherished the time she spent with family and friends and loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. 

Along with her husband Bobby, Monica is also survived by her children, Liz (Ruben) Leija, Dietzen (Holly) Worland, Adam Worland, Joseph (Jessica) Worland, Tiffany (Jacob) Barnes and Bri (Brian) Dale; grandchildren, Anthony Leija, Madison Leija, Dietzen E. Worland, Raegan Barnes, Ryland Barnes, Brinna Dale, Grayson Worland, Ava Worland, Baze Worland, Brody Dale and Ana Worland; siblings, Bob (Linda) Walker, Kathleen (Mike) Crone, Mary Nell Hicks, Susan (Steve) Williams, Jim (Sara) Walker and Patsy (Dave) Westhuis; and the father of her children, Dietz Worland.

Monica was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, May 16, 2022, at Chapel Hill Church, 2600 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Steve Allen officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1:00 pm until time of service on Monday at the church. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with arrangements.
