Michael "Mike" Franklin Vernon

Michael “Mike” Franklin Vernon, 56, Young America, passed away at 10:06 pm on Tuesday May 3, 2022, at Community East Hospital, Indianapolis.  He was born to the late Richard and Helen (Sutton) Vernon, in Logansport, on November 6, 1965.  On September 12, 1986, he married Sheena Bell and she survives.

Mike graduated from Caston High School. He enjoyed spending time with Sheena on their front porch.  He loved spending time with his loved ones, fishing, camping and his dog, Harley.

Along with his wife Sheena, Mike is survived by his sons, Josh (Kabrina) Bell and Shane (Jennifer) Vernon; grandchildren, Keegan Bell, Levi Bell, Reneelea Bell and Draven Larange; brothers, Richard Vernon and Paul Grandstaff; sister, Megan Vernon; sister-in-law, Lisa (Doug) Metcalf; brother-in-law, Greg (Susan) Bell; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, that he loved so much and were a big part of his life.

He was preceded in death his parents, Helen Vernon and Richard Vernon; mother-in-law, Shirley Townsend; aunt, Norma Robbins; nieces, Olivia Metcalf and Kyla Bell.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday May 15, 2022, at the Young America Baptist Church, 1451 Mill St., with Ken Spangler officiating.    Contributions may be made to Sheena to help with final expenses.  Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation.
