Mary Lou Bennett

Mary Lou (Bartley) Bennett, 88, of Russiaville, passed away at 10:05 pm Wednesday January 5, 2022, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born in rural Tompkinsville, KY, on August 8, 1933, the daughter of Ralph and Maudie (Murray) Bartley. On November 25, 1954, she married Paul W. Bennett, and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2018.

Mary Lou was a 1951 graduate of Western High School. She retired from Montgomery Ward after working there for 32 years. She was a strong, hard-working woman who worked as a farm wife and homemaker. She assisted her husband Paul with planting and harvesting their crop. She was a lifetime member of Courtland Avenue Church of Christ in Kokomo. Mary Lou enjoyed traveling to National Parks and visiting family who lived in Kentucky and Michigan.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Vickie Thomas of Kokomo, Tami (Jeff) Davidson of Russiaville; grandchildren, Elijah Allison, Sarah Allison, Stefani (Cody) Stokes, Matthew (Grace) Thomas, Rhiannon (Craig) Thompson, Alan (Elissa) Davidson, Aaron (Anastasiya) Davidson; sisters-in-law, Carol Bartley, Delores Bartley; great-grandchildren, Tivon, Jasmine, Layla, Brayson, Azrael, Alyahna, London, Molly, Noah, Rowan, Kai, Brady, I’Auni, Cali, Kaylix, another great-granddaughter on the way, Sonya, and Jax.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Maudie Bartley; husband, Paul W. Bennett; son, Jeff Bennett; brothers, Harvey Bartley, and Tom Bartley.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm Tuesday January 11, 2022, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, IN 46979. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday January 12, 2022, at the funeral home, with Preachers Joshua Welch and Kevin Kay officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary Lou’s memory to the Kokomo Humane Society, 729 East Hoffer Street, Kokomo, IN 46902.
