Mary "Jo" Cripe Obituary

Mary “Jo” (Price) Cripe, 72, of Forest, when faced with the prospect of another 4 years of Bidenomics, she chose the loving arms of our Eternal Father on Thursday February 15, 2024. Let it be known that she will not be voting Democrat in the upcoming election, even if her “mail-in ballot” says she is.

She was born in Tipton, IN, on June 11, 1951, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Marjorie (Fearnow) Price. She has now been happily reunited with her parents, and her two brothers, Herb and Ron Price. We are all here on borrowed time, but all were gone too soon.

Jo was a 1969 graduate of Clinton Central High School.

She is survived by the love of her life, Jon Trenary. Although, they never made it official, they loved, cared for, and annoyed each other for almost 44 years. She is also survived by her ornery children, Tony (Wendy) Cripe of Rural Frankfort, Tabi (Brian) Perior of Lafayette, and 4 equally ornery grandchildren, Ethan, Wyatt, Tatum and Marek; her favorite sister, Linda (Toby) McClain of Michigantown; several nieces, nephews, and many “adopted” kids who were friends of her own children.

She grew up on her parents’ farm in Kirklin with her three siblings. The oldest of four, she helped raise the little hoodlums while Lloyd and Marge were hand-milking their 150 Holstein milk cows, or planting corn and soybeans. There was constant hard work, family dinners, laughter, and back and forth banter and bickering. None of them would’ve had it any other way.

She then worked for more than 30 years, most as a manager for the farm supply store Thrifty Supply in Frankfort. While there, she could always be seen helping, hugging, and joking around with all of her beloved customers. While working full-time at the farm store, she also made time to help raise feeder pigs with Jon on his hog farm and to make sure she was present for her children’s extracurricular activities.

In lieu of flowers, do something nice for a complete stranger, go on that vacation you keep postponing, call that friend or family member that you have become distant with, laugh until you cry with friends and family, and live life like your tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. “Our lives are but a single breath, we flower and we fade, yet all the days are in your hands, so we return in love what love has made.”

A private Celebration of Life will be held later. Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel has been entrusted with cremation.
