Mary Agnes Brantley, 100, of Kokomo, passed away at 11:04 pm, Monday, March 30, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent in Kokomo. She was born on July 26, 1925, the daughter of Kyle S. and Angeline L. (Tate) Long. On June 19, 1945, she married Ondis Brantley in Sharps Chapel and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2023.
Mary will be remembered as being a wonderful mom to her children. She was also a talented cook, gardener, growing fresh vegetables for canning and grew beautiful flowers.
Mary is survived by her children, Boyd (Thea) Brantley, Brenda (Jim) Papacek, Terry (Marcia) Brantley, and Pam (Steve) Hulce; grandchildren, David Brantley, Heather (Mark) Humphrey, Bethe (Pat) Murray, Leigh (Matt) Rhoda, Amanda Brantley, Amy Brantley, Brandon (Carrie) Cloud, Adam Cloud, Jason (Sara) Hulce, and Ryan (fiance, Katie Griner) Hulce; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Mabel Mayes, Shirley Wolfenbarger, Billy (Juanita) Long, Kenny (Blanche) Long, Diane (Ronnie) Combs, and Jamie Bonawitz; sister-in-law, Polly Long; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ondis Brantley; parents, Kyle and Angeline Long; siblings, Edward Long, A.G. Long, Eugene Long, Ronnie Long, and Bobby Long; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 12 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd, Kokomo, with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Entombment in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery will follow. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30 am Tuesday until service time.
