Mary Ida Meiring

Mary Ida Meiring, 88, Spring Grove, IL., passed away on Monday May 2, 2022, at her home.  She was born on March 10, 1934, in Sharpsville, IN. to the late Lyle and Cecile Myrtle (Powell) Rubush.  On May 13, 1962, she married Richard Leo Meiring, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1997.

Mary graduated from Sharpsville High School. She worked at the Cheese Factory, after she married Richard and they started a family she became a stay-at-home mom.  She loved taking care of their daughter and home.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Mary is survived by her daughter, Irene (Don) Blair; grandchildren, Jackie (Adam) Zeman, Michelle (Montel) Barnes, Sherry Perry and Chrissy (Chuck) Ribar; great grandchildren, Blair Zeman, Emory Zeman, Cassie Ford, Frankie Yandell, Stevie Yandell and Everly Ribar; brother, Jim Rubush; brother-in-law, Dean Moon; sister-in-law, Hariett Rubush; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcia Lynn Holloway; siblings, Sally McCormick, Bob Rubush, Dorothy Rollins, John Rubush, Betty Huffer, Alice Moon, David Rubush, Martha Avery, Carol Saul, Audra Moon, William Rubush and Helen Rubush.

A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Friday May 6, 2022, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Jim Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 10 am to 12 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
