Martha Louise Creason

Martha Louise Creason (Schimmel), age 94, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1932, in Frankfort, Indiana.

Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life, Lester Creason, on March 25, 1951, and together they shared 75 years of marriage, a remarkable milestone and a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

She is survived by her husband, Lester Creason; her children, Cindy (Clay) Shores, Linda Janota, Brenda (Gary) Hays, and Michael (Phyllis) Creason; her grandchildren, Patrick Miller, Tricia (Shores) Robitaille, Jennifer (Creason) Tracy, Brittney (Janota) Jones, and Michael Hays; along with many beloved step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large and loving extended family including nieces and nephews.

Martha worked for approximately 10 years in the lunchroom at Haworth High School in Kokomo, where she enjoyed serving students and being part of the school community.

Martha was a woman of strong Christian faith, known for her intelligence, kindness, and caring nature. She took great pride in caring for her home and family, and she especially cherished her grandchildren, finding great joy in their lives and accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her son-in-law, Chris Janota, and grandson, Joseph Shores.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver, Kristy Hays, for the compassion and care she provided during the final few years of Martha’s life.

A funeral service celebrating Martha’s life will be held at 10 am, Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5741 W. 100 N., Kokomo, IN 46901 with Pastor Joe Johnson officiating. Burial in Shiloh Cemetery will follow. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the church.
